First Aid & CPR

Absolutely Creative Training Solutions is a Training Partner of the Canadian Red Cross First Aid Program, which is designed for people of all ages and skill levels. Red Cross courses emphasize prevention of injuries and prompt, practical first aid care for casualties. Hands-on practice with manikins and an illustrated manual reinforce the skills and knowledge components of these courses. Absolutely Creative Training promotes learner-centred training that is fun, flexible and relevant — you’ll learn how to think, improvise and adapt to any emergency.

The Red Cross program was updated with 2010 ILCOR First Aid & CPR Guidelines, a full colour manual and new skills, including the use of automatic external defibrillators (AED) by the general public, use of epinephrine auto-injectors, and use of metered dose inhalers. The certification period is three years for all Red Cross first aid & CPR courses; you are welcome to recertify more frequently if it is required by your employer, school or agency. These are the requirements for successful certification in Red Cross First Aid and CPR courses:

1. Ability to comprehend and successfully demonstrate the skills and pass a knowledge evaluation with a minimum mark of 75%;

2. Participants must attend and actively participate in 100% of the course.

A Tribute to Samba 1992-2005

Samba the Basset Hound passed away on February 22, 2005, after 13 years of happy, drooly life.  She helped to teach Pet First Aid to hundreds of people across southern Ontario, and loved her job as the “CPR Hound”.  She was featured on television, radio and in the newspaper — she was a star in every sense of the word! We miss her bright eyes, wagging tail and sweet spirit.
